About the greek language
We could say so many things about the foreign words in our dictionary.Although this is something happened ,it is right that so many foreign words have greek routes. These words are too many.We could discuss for 150.000 english words,180.000 french words ,some thousand words as well.
Let’s give some more examples in order to prove our suggestions. How many times we use English words which are coming from greek routes? How many times we are hearing such words from English speakers?Let’s give some examples.Problem,prognosis,protozoa,gastronomy,theory,trilogy,philosophy,philology,phenomenon,periphery,satyr,scene,lexicon,astrology.
It is true that all these English words through so complicated and obscure linguistic roads arrived in English language having depart from the greek language. There are borrowed words from the greek language. It is very well known that English language has taken many words from the greek dictionary.
The glosologist Aristeidis Konstadinidis has worked on this item in the first volume of his book.He has collected 20.600 words which have been lent from greek to English language. This volume contains 27.000 words finally.
Let’s give one more example as far as we consider the world around us.Especially the planetic system. All the planets of our galaxy have greek names, with these names are examined by the scientists.Actually all the planets have the names og the greek Olympians gods.Who doesn’t know the planet Aphrodite?Hermeus as well?Who doesn’t know planet Gaia,Cronos,Zeus,Poseidon,Plouton.Planets preserved greek names of greek gods because these names have some specific attributes.Planet Helios is the most bright of all planets.Cronos is the only planet which has a ring around its. That is a symbol that everything happens in the circle of the eternal time.
All the sciences through the years are helped by the rich greek dictionary. The word biopsy(this word comes grom the ancient verb οράω-ώ and the greek word βίος) has helped the science very much against the cancer. The science of psychology uses many products of the greek word ψυχή.Psychology, psychometric, psychoneurotic, psychotherapy e.t.c.The greek word βίος(=live)has given so many solutions and scientific tools to sciences and scientists who are occupied with the phainomenon of the life.Biotomy ,biopsychology, biotelemetry, biotherapy, biotomy, biotope are just some words which become from the greek word bios.English words which support sciences in our days, because they help in the formulation of the various conclusions ,are become from the greek language.
Greek language has given useful words for the values of the anthropocentrism and anthropistic sciences.Philanthropy is a word which covers the human needs for the sympathy and solidarity(this word becomes from the greek words φίλος(=friend) and άνθρωπος (=human). Anthropomorfic is another word which describes the liveliness of the universe and the world.
In the political sector greek language has given the very important words of democracy, democratic, polis and politis. These words have been the very basis of the structure of the synchronic political sciences.
There is a text –this text has been written by professor Zolotas-which proves everything we have said up to here. This text is in English language but is being understood by greek and English people because many words although have their origin from the greek language they are used by the English language.it is as follows:
“Kyrie, eulogize the archons of the panethnic numismatic thesaurus and the ecumenical trapeza for the orthodoxy of their axioms, methods and policies although there is an episode of cacophony of the trapeze with Hellas. With enthusiasm we dialogue and synagonize at the synods of our didumous organizations in which polymorphous economic ideas and dogmas are analyzed and synthesized. Our critical problems such as the numismatic plethora generate some agony and melancholy. This phenomenon is characteristic of our epoch. But to my thesis we have the dynamism to program therapeutic practices as a prophylaxis from chaos and catastrophe. In parallel a Panethnic unhypocritical economic synergy and harmonization in a democratic climate is basic.I apologize for my eccentric monologue.I emphasize my euharistia to you ,Kyrie to the eugenic and generous American Ethnos and to the organizes and protagonists of the Amphictiony and the gastronomic symposia”.
Here follows a similar text which has been written by the pupils of our school.
“Agapitoi pareyriskomenoi in this philosophical Amphictiony.
Euphoria characterizes all of us because of this philosophical symposium.Logos is a pater of biorhythm and we must have a gnosis of this.Ousia and symvevikota are the two precious sons of Logos.Anthropomorfism and anthropomorphic system hace this basis. In Ancient Hellas logos gave to Ellines Epistimes of philosophy ,theology, oikonomy, astronomy.Eudaimonia was the great skopos of all of this.Psycho in Aristotle has the esoteric enthelexeia to pragmatize all, that think is christon.Anthropomorfism and anthropomorphic are an important harmonization with this logos.Dias and Athina took birth to Sophia which is the thea of Dias kara.Logos is in a great synchronism in the cronos.Humane nous is the weapon of skepsis.Ethos and exis is the next steps.Tihi and anagi could organize the prosopikon ethos but man is free in his skepsis and praxis.
In our days we must feel eutixeis because among catastrophical phenomena we have the eykairia of one pneymatic oikoumenical koinonia.Technology is an ethos to this on the basis of logos endemic.Charismatic people could govern human politeies.Politikoi with the charisma of christi and unhypocritical diakyvernisi. These politicians would get alived Athenean democracy .In philosophy kosmos has a very idion telos. All of us must feel En under the Platonic agathon. Many phaenomena in our epochs could have a scope for our good.We must have the mnimi of kalon in order to practice oraion and christon”.
The influence of greek language to other European languages is widely known buto not systematically edited. Many foreign scientists have recognized the very significant role that the greek language has done to their sciences.Today,in the age of technology, greek language helps a lot the programmers of the computers because it creates many words types for the computer programms(as logon, type e.t.c).

English
It is never cold in Greece
it has never been cold
you can come tonight to feel
like you’ve never felt before
Want to take a ride
to a magical country
where everyone claims
they are experts on fun
But laughing is losing
this is the rule
and if you dare to dance
you are threatened with exclusion
It is never cold in Greece
it has never been cold
you can come tonight to feel
like you’ve never felt before
Between the abyss of sorrow
and the meadows of joy
there is a small door
which it is up to you to open
this night wants to party
wants to sweat and to be loud
doesn’t want a trendy show
and a miserable distress
It is never cold in Greece
it has never been cold
you can come tonight to feel
like you’ve never felt before
Become the child of the Sun
and the laughter of the flame
this is the real power
to break any chain
Full of passionate sweat hug me
there is love everywhere
and if you feel like it, kiss me
let the sky reveal his stars
It is never cold in Greece
it has never been cold
you can come tonight to feel
like you’ve never felt before
immigration article....
How does it feel to be an immigrant (or child of immigrants) in Greece?
We are three boys, two Albanians and a South African who live in a foreign country which is called Greece.
1) My name is Albi (“eagle”in Albanian) I am from Albania, I am fourteen years old. I was born in Greece and I haven’t experienced racism in any form as long as I have lived here. I live in peace with everyone here. I feel lucky because I have heard that some Albanians have had problems, especially when trying to find work or rent a house. I am not racist in my behaviour towards others and I think multiculture is the best and I prefer it.
2) My name is Gabriel. I am sixteen years old and I was born in South Africa. The first few years in Mytilene the racism was pretty bad. I could not communicate with the kids because I did not understand the language and because they visually showed that they did not want to know me. Today I do not experience racism to the same degree, although racism has affected the way that I behave around people. I am aware that I am in some way different but that’s not so bad sometimes!!!
3) My name is Michael and I am from Albania. I’m fourteen years old and I live in Greece. I haven’t experienced racism maybe because I was born in Greece. I think that it is easier for children than for adults because they become part of a community at school and make friends with other children. For adults, it is harder to find friends. I feel that another reason I have not experienced racism is because I don’t have an uncommon name like the other Albanians I know.

How did he die? (He was
murdered)
Why did they kill him? (A mad man killed him).
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ .
2. T lets Ss
listen to <<IMAGINE>>
3. After
listening and before handing out the lyrics, T explains some words.
This aims to the explanation of the new vocabulary and
to a first approach
to the messages of the song.
4. T has
prepared a set of cards with the words on. C imagine, heavens, hell
Religion, greed, brotherhood, war, peace, share,
hunger)
5. T gives them
the lyrics photocopied.
6. It’s easy
if you try.
Ss find at
least five if clauses in the song. These sentences are not easily
spotted,
because they are hidden.
T tries to
elicit the first one as an example.
-If there is no heaven above us or hell below
us, people will live life for
today.
Ss give the following sentences.
a. If there are no
countries or religion, people will live life in peace.
b. If you join us,
the world will be as one.
c. If there are no possessions, there will be no
greed or hunger.
d. If all this
happens, all people will share the world.
7. I WONDER IF YOU
CAN:

to write poems according to the
world they
imagine want to live in.
Group 1.Imagine all the
world without lies and bad thoughts
no need for valuable things and money
there all will be happy, together.
